Laboratory Technician
WiLab is looking for qualified candidates as Laboratory Technician with the responsibility of supporting the experimental activities of the National Laboratory. The LT will report to the WiLab Area Leaders and WiLab Director, and will work closely with WiLab researchers.
Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be familiar with standard electronic laboratory equipment and must possess basic good skills of electronic board testing and prototyping (SMD soldering is a must), as well as managing IT infrastructures (e.g., cloud orchestration, git repositories, etc.).
In this role, the candidate will:
- administrate the laboratory private IP network;
- manage the laboratory’s private/public repositories and cloud systems;
- support the firmware and hardware (e.g., ST-/Raspberry PI-based) development;
- take care of hardware inventory.
The candidate will also occasionally travel to different WiLab sites for support.
Competence Requirements
Hard Skills:
- High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (three years) in Telecommunications / Informatics / Electronics / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent);
- good knowledge of English;
- some past experience in prototyping, debugging and testing of microcontroller based embedded electronics, involving sensors, actuators, communication protocols, algorithms optimized for embedded systems;
- proficiency in using laboratory instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators);
- basic embedded programming skills (e.g., C embedded, micropython);
- possibly, familiarity with the use of operating systems and cloud platforms (e.g., Linux, Windows);
- possibly, confidence in the exploitation of git-based platforms (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, GitKraken).
Optional appreciated competences:
- knowledge of basic high layers’ protocols (e.g., IP, HTTP, MQTT, FTP);
- website maintenance;
- good knowledge of Italian language.

WiLab is looking for qualified experts in 5G and Internet of Things technologies for the role of responsible of experimental activities. He/she will report to the WiLab Area Leaders and WiLab Director, and will work closely with other WiLab researchers.
Job Responsibilities
The ideal candidate should be familiar with 5G and Internet of Things standards, protocols and architectures; he/she should have hands-on experience with such technologies.
In this role, the candidate will:
- design and develop innovative architectures and protocols for 5G and Internet of Things applications (e.g., industrial, smart city)
- participate in Proof of Concept developments.
The candidate will also occasionally travel to different WiLab sites for support.
Competence Requirements
Hard Skills:
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering / Telecommunications / Computer Science (or equivalent);
- good knowledge of English;
- past experience in prototyping, debugging and testing of Proof of Concepts;
- basic embedded programming skills (e.g., C embedded, micropython);
- confidence in the exploitation of git-based platforms (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, GitKraken);

WiLab is looking for qualified experts in 5G and Internet of Things technologies for the role of research associate in the field of future industrial networks. He/she will report to the WiLab Area Leaders and WiLab Director, and will work closely with other WiLab researchers.

The ideal candidate should be familiar with communication standards, network protocols and architectures and channel modelling.
In this role, the candidate will:
- develop custom physical, MAC and network layer designs for communication networks;
- participate in the Proof of Concepts development of THz-based wireless solutions for industrial scenarios.
The candidate will also occasionally travel to different WiLab sites for support.
